Tackling difficulties and overcoming the challenges life serves up – by Dona Halliday

Who I am may not be as important as the reason behind this blog. I am a very private person by nature and the idea of sharing my thoughts, my struggles and my aspirations with anyone who may want to read them, caused me pause for several months. I’m not a person comfortable with “emotional stripping”. As a child of West Indian up-bringing I was taught not to “put me business pon de part”. Simply put, what happened at home stayed at home.  However, I’ve learned that there is great power in talking and working through things, whether with a close friend, keeping a journal or through prayer and meditation.

As a result, I wanted this to be a round-table of sorts, where we can learn from each other and grow as a result of honest exchange.

My6inchchallange came as a result of understanding that whether we experience “the good “, “the challenging” or the “I wish I had never done that” they all come together to make up our lives. Celebrating the good and learning to navigate and conquer our challenges make all the difference in the journey.

For more information on what inspired the name “My6inchchallange” please read my first blog, Tackling difficulties and overcoming the challenges life serves up.
